An interview with your certified instructor, David.

Who can do yoga?

Anyone! Whatever your condition or age or level of fitness, there are ways to adapt your practice to fit you.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t do yoga?

There are poses that some people shouldn’t do. Some conditions such as a slipped disk or hypertension mean you need to do poses differently. Talk to me before class about any health concerns so that we can work together. This way, you get the most benefit from your practice.

What do I need to bring to class?

Dress in comfortable, stretchy clothing. If you have your own mat, bring it. I provide blocks, straps, mats and blankets at each class. An open heart and willing attitude don’t hurt either!

What if I can’t do a particular pose?

The goal is not a perfect pose. The goal is to learn to use your body as it can be used, to become aware. Success is in the trying.

Is yoga about a religion?

No, while some people consider yoga to be a spiritual practice, it is what you bring to it. Yoga is not in conflict with any personal religious practice.

Can I bring my child to class?

Anyone of any age may attend so long as they are not disruptive.

What will I gain from yoga?

If you practice regularly, yoga increases your strength and flexibility. Yoga has been clinically proven to reduce the side effects of stress, such as an improved sense of well-being, promote better sleep, and regulate hunger. It even improves digestion and your complexion by stimulating blood flow to the organs, including the skin. Whatever sport you love, yoga can help make it better, and reduce your risk of injury.
